Exciting new offers for parking in Colchester
COLCHESTER residents and visitors alike can benefit from a new range of parking charges announced on July 1.

If you need to use your car then why not take advantage of the new parking offers in Colchester? Travelling at off-peak times or having a more efficient vehicle can help to reduce congestion in the town, lower CO2 emissions – and even better, it is now easier on your pocket!

The project is the result of a partnership between the Council’s Parking Services team and a variety of town centre leisure and retail businesses. The ‘Choose Colchester’ partnership has been developing and piloting special parking deals over recent months. The pilots projects proved so successful that they are now being rolled out to more Colchester Borough Council car parks.

The deals are aimed at:

•shoppers with a special £2 parking offer between 10am and 3pm in four car parks (plus Sundays are now just 50p!)
•evening leisure with a special £2 parking offer after 3pm on weekdays encouraging people to take in a meal before going to the cinema or theatre for instance
•visitors taking a short break in Colchester with a special £10 deal for 60 hours parking
•workers in the town centre with a special early-bird all-day parking deal of £2.90 in Butt Road car park if you arrive before 8am

Save money by

•Parking between 10am and 3pm on weekdays
•Parking after 3pm for evenings out
•Getting to work early, avoiding the morning peak traffic
•Shopping on a Sunday


What to do:

Many of the offers need you to press the yellow button in the middle of the machine first. Where there are now two or more offers available, the button will display one, then the next. It is important to check the LCD window to make sure the offer you want has been selected and registered.

• Press the yellow button on the machine to select the offer.
Enjoy is available 3pm-midnight for £2.00 at:

•Vineyard Street

•Press the yellow button on the machine to select the offer.
This offer is also available at:

•St Mary’s car park
•St John’s car park
•The system at these car parks is automatic (no yellow button).
Work is available if arriving before 8am for £2.90

•Butt Road car park only.
Discover is intended for people coming to Colchester on a short break.

It is accessed by your accommodation provider or the Visitor Information Centre only and only available on our telephone payment system.
This offer gives 60 hours parking for £10 in any of the following town centre car parks:

•Vineyard Street
•Priory Street
•Britannia
•St Botolph’s car parks
If you need to travel during peak times why not consider a low emissions vehicle? This will help the environment, give you more miles per gallon and if your vehicle has a low tax band you can now access cheaper parking in Sheepen Road.
